WHAT IS EMDR?

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a powerful, research-backed therapy that helps people heal from trauma, anxiety, and other distressing experiences. Unlike traditional talk therapy, EMDR works with the brain’s natural ability to process and rewire memories, allowing you to move past painful experiences without feeling stuck in them. Using guided eye movements or other forms of bilateral stimulation, EMDR helps reprocess difficult memories so they no longer trigger overwhelming emotions. The result? Lasting relief, a sense of empowerment, and the ability to move forward with greater ease. Whether you're struggling with past trauma, anxiety, or limiting beliefs, EMDR offers a path to healing and resilience. Click the link below to watch a brief video introducing EMDR:

Emily has completed Part 1 of EMDR training, which allows her to begin integrating this powerful modality into therapy sessions under consultation. EMDR training is a multi-phase process designed to ensure clinicians develop the skills necessary to guide clients safely and effectively through trauma processing. Part 2 of the training is scheduled for completion in March, further deepening her expertise in this evidence-based approach. This structured training process ensures that EMDR is used ethically and effectively to help clients experience meaningful healing and relief from distressing memories.
